McLaughlin boys track team earns fifth place finish at conference meet

The McLaughlin Mustangs boys’ track team posted a fifth place finish at the Yellowstone Trail Conference track meet held last Thursday, April 28, in Sully Buttes. Herreid-Selby Area won the boys conference crown while Potter County collected the girls’ title.

Thompson boys, Panther golf team hit links

Two members of the Timber Lake HS golf team - Hayden and Hadley Thompson - were among the medalists at the Potter County Golf Invitational in Gettysburg last Tuesday, April 26. Hayden, left, placed second in the Jr. Varsity division by shooting a 50 on the nine-hole course.

Panther MS teams third in Eureka

Timber Lake’s boys and girls middle school track teams were in the hunt for titles at the Eureka Lions Middle School Track Meet on Friday, April 22, but finished the day with respectable third place finishes.

Area competitors kick off HS rodeo season

The 2022 South Dakota High School Rodeo Association season got underway last weekend with several area competitors taking part in the New Underwood Rodeo held in Rapid City. Next on the association’s practice rodeo schedule is the Triple Crown Rodeos Friday through Sunday, April 29-May 1.

Marshall leads Dupree MS Track

Spencer Olsen and Marty Marshall turned in strong performances to lead the Dupree Tigers at the four-team Pierre Middle School Track Invitational last Thursday, April 21. Other schools included Crow Creek, Georgia Morse and Stanley County.
