The Corsica-Stickney Jaguars drained 13 three-point shots to claim a convincing 75-50 victory over the Faith Lady Longhorns on Saturday, March 12, in the third place game of the State Class B Girls Basketball Tournament in Watertown.

Dupree freshman Naveah Farlee deadlifted 275 lbs. during the state power lifting event last weekend. Farlee placed 3rd in her weight class, posting a squat of 225 lbs. and 110 lbs. in the bench press. Case DePoy and Matthew Lemke, both sophomores, competed as well and hit personal records.

What started out as a promising season sort of went off the rails for the McIntosh Tigers, who wrapped up their 2021-2022 campaign with a 78-34 loss to the Faith Longhorns last Tuesday, March 1, in the first round of the Region 8B Boys Basketball Tournament.

Elshere posts top three finishes in Nebraska, Texas

Faith saddle bronc rider Cole Elshere banked some of the prize money at PRCA rodeos in Nebraska and Texas in the past week, including top pay for a top finish. Elshere posted an 80.5 point effort on Sutton Rodeos Smoke Wagon to finish third at Rodeo Grand Island in Grand Island, NE, on Feb.

The Timber Lake Boys Basketball Sixth Grade Traveling Team is on a roll, having won tournament championships in each of the last three weeks. The team won titles in Mobridge, Ipswich and most recently, Gettysburg, on Saturday, March 5.
