Woodward, Burress win at Sioux Empire Rodeo

Minda Woodward of Dupree and Patty Jo Burress of Isabel were among the event winners at the annual Sioux Empire Rodeo held Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 10-11, in Sioux Falls.Woodward won the barrel racing competition with a time of 14.

Gabe, Paul double up wins in Isabel, Bison

Bull rider Chazz Gabe of Timber Lake and bareback bronc rider Iver Paul of Faith scored double wins over the weekend, capturing top honors in their respective events at the Isabel Rodeo and the Perkins County Rodeo in Bison.
When he’s not working as one of the top pick-up men in the business, JJ Hunt of Ridgeview is competing in steer wrestling. Above, he takes his shot during the Isabel Rodeo. Hunt didn’t go winless over the weekend, however, as he snagged top honors in steer wrestling at the Oglala Lakota Nation INFR Rodeo in Pine Ridge with a 4.19 second run. TL Days of 1910 Rodeo crowns new champions

The weather was hot and so was the action at the 2024 Days of 1910 Rodeo in Timber Lake last Saturday and Sunday, July 27-28, with big crowds braving the heat for the two main performances.Dupree calf roper Trey Young captured his second Days of 1910 championship in three years with a nice 10.
