Region 8B boys BB tourney underway in TL and Dupree

The Region 8B Boys Basketball Tournament tipped off Tuesday, March 3, with quarterfinal games being played in Timber Lake and Dupree.Top-seeded Dupree, 16-4, host ed 2-12 Takini, the No. 8 seed. Also in Dupree, fourth seeded Harding County, 9-10, faced 5-15 Lemmon, the fifth seed.

Luke Beer claims state K of C Hoop Shoot title

Timber Lake’s Luke Beer won the state Knights of Columbus Hoop Shoot championship recently in the boys 13-year-old division.Twelve Timber Lake competitors won their local divisions.

C-EB-D wrestlers qualify for State Class A Tournament

The Cheyenne-Eagle Butte-Dupree (C-EB-D) wrestling team finished eighth in the team standings at the Class 3A regional tournament in Mitchell on Saturday, Feb. 21, and had two members qualify for the State Tournament this weekend in Rapid City.

Panthers fall short in classic shoot-out with C-EB Braves

Fans attending the Timber Lake vs. Cheyenne-Eagle Butte boys basketball game last Thursday, Feb. 19, were treated to a classic shoot-out as the Panthers and Braves played for bragging rights as the top team in Dewey County.

Panther girls fall in regular season finale

The Kadoka Kougars outscored Timber Lake by 13 points in the fourth quarter to break open a close game and collect a 49-34 win over the host Timber Lake Panthers in the final game of the regular season.Timber Lake took its 7-12 record into the Region 8B quarterfinals this week.

TL boys knock off Lead-Deadwood and Bison, improve to 12-5 overall

Timber Lake used its transition game and a balanced scoring attack to grab wins over the Bison Cardinals last Tuesday, Feb. 10, and the Lead-Deadwood Golddiggers on Saturday, Feb. 14, at the Belle Fourche Classic.
