Larson ties for fourth at State golf tournament

Four-time Region 6B golf champion Wyatt Larson of McIntosh earned a tie for fourth place in the State Class B Golf Tournament played last Monday and Tuesday, June 3-4, in Rapid City.Larson, a sophomore, carded a 79 on his first round and shot a 75 on the second day for a 10-over-par 154.

More than 40 area competitors qualify for State HS Rodeo

The South Dakota High School Rodeo Finals got underway Tuesday, June 11, in Ft. Pierre, and will end with the Short Go performance on Saturday, June 15.Representing Dewey and Ziebach counties, as well as the surrounding area, is a contingent of more than three dozen high school studentathletes.

Roghair wins two NW Region rodeo titles

Isabel’s Rope Roghair captured two championships at the South Dakota High School Rodeo Association’s Northwest Regional Rodeo held Saturday and Sunday, June 8-9, in Dupree.The rodeo was the final opportunity for competitors to punch their ticket to the State HS Rodeo Finals this weekend in Ft.

Kraft scratched from Packer OTA’s after weightlifting injury

Timber Lake native Tucker Kraft, a second-year tight end with the Green Bay Packers, has been missing offseason workouts due to an injury. Packer blogs reported last week that Kraft’s arm is in a sling and he is not participating in organized team activities (OTA’s).

Isabel cowboys Hayes Burress, Rope Roghair, and Sage Burress finished 1-2-3 in the tiedown event at the Lemmon High School Rodeo last Monday, May 27.Hayes Burress won the event with a 12.470 second run while Roghair was close behind with a time of 12.780 seconds and Sage Burress followed at 17.630.
