Veit leads Mustang girls at Big Dakota Conference mat meet

McLaughlin-Timber Lake’s Lilly Veit captured second place honors in the girls 185 pound weight class at the Big Dakota Conference Wrestling Meet held Friday, Feb. 2, in Ft. Pierre. Veit won by fall over Tatum Silbernagel of Mobridge-Pollock before being pinned by Eriah Big Crow of Lakota Tech.

Panther boys claim LMC Tournament consolation

The Timber Lake Panthers rebounded from a second-round loss to knock off Harding County in the consolation finals of the 2024 Little Moreau Conference Boys Basketball Tournament held Saturday, Feb. 3, in Faith.

Four Mustang wrestlers claim top honors at Ipswich-Bowdle JV meet

The McLaughlin-Timber Lake JV wrestling team had 12 members place top four finishes, including four who captured first place honors, at the Ipswich-Bowdle JV Wrestling Meet in Ipswich on Jan. 22. The Mustangs placed eighth overall in a field of 15 teams. Aberdeen Central took home the team title.

Four-game win streak improves TL boys to 7-5

The Timber Lake boys went on a four-game win streak that included the team’s second buzzer-beating victory in a week, but hit a stumbling block at Mobridge-Pollock on Monday, Jan. 29, that put the Panthers at 7-5 overall heading into the 2024 Little Moreau Conference Tournament this week.

Timber Lake powerlifters earn medals at Box Elder meet

Two members of the newlyformed Timber Lake High School powerlifting team competed in a meet at Liberty Center in Box Elder on Saturday, Jan. 27, coming away with first and second place finishes in their respective divisions.
