A 41-year-old rural Isabel man the former owner of a local wireless communications company - entered a plea of not guilty in 4th Circuit Court in Timber Lake on Monday, March 11, to 10 drug and weapons charges.
Ryan James Farlee waived his right to a preliminary hearing before entering his plea.

Highway 63 bridge project underway south of Eagle Butte

A project began on Monday, March 18, on the Highway 63 bridge over the Cheyenne River south of Eagle Butte in Haakon and Ziebach counties that is expected to last into early fall.

Large numbers of Canadian geese have been passing through the area on their return to Canada, perhaps fooled by the unseasonably warm weather conditions of the past two weeks. All that could end this weekend with the National Weather Forecast putting the region in the middle of a massive winter storm that could extend multiple days.
