REGULAR MEETING OF DEWEY COUNTY COMMISSIONERS, February 2, 2023. The Dewey County Commissioners met on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. in the Dewey County Courthouse. Chairman Bob Berndt called the meeting to order. Present: Commissioners Rod Enright, Bob Keckler and Dee Ann Lawrence.

No Place Like Home

McLaughlin bull rider Chance Schott and Dupree saddle bronc rider Shorty Garrett always seem to perform better when they’re close to home. Last week was no exception, as the pair of local pro’s stole the show at the Black Hills Stock Show & Rodeo and Rodeo Rapid City.
Zeph Jewett- I learned that penguins can swim really good and hold their breath for 10-15 minutes. Polar bears paws are really good for swimming because they have that webbed stuff.

All About Me

Theresa Keller – Kindergarten Mrs. Keller’s kindergarten class has been busy learning about polar animals. This week their 4th grade reading buddies helped them to build an igloo for their polar bears and penguins. Tell me something you learned about polar bears and penguins.

CRST closes COVID Command Center

The CRST Command Center, opened by the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe in Eagle Butte in March of 2020 as a central point for managing emergency and essential services related to the COVID-19 pandemic, was officially closed last Friday, Feb. 3.

Timber Lake City Board

The Timber Lake City Board met on Monday, February 6 with a short agenda. Resolutions related to the upcoming sewer project were approved, and Three Seasons Tent Rental was hired to replace the roof on the fire hall. The board approved building and utility permits for the new Moreau-Grand building.
