License renewal system delayed

Dewey County Treasurer Colleen Meier reports that the new motor vehicle registration system which was to be implemented this month has been delayed until further notice. The change was to begin for people with last names beginning with letters T to Z, whose renewals are due in November.

Standing Rock Sioux elect first woman chairperson since 1946

Despite allegations of potential irregularities in the general election results, the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe (SRST) Election Commission on Friday, Oct. 8 certified that Janet Alkire was elected as the tribe's new chairperson. She succeeds Mike Faith as chairperson.
