Burning ban

Dewey County still has a burn ban in effect as drought conditions persist but has not banned fireworks. County officials say they will closely monitor conditions and take action if severe drought conditions warrant it.

Pfizer vaccines offered at youth clinic June 23

Mobridge Regional Hospital and Clinics will hold a youth vaccination clinic on Wednesday, June 23 at Mobridge Medical Clinic from 3-5:30 p.m. CT for anyone 12 and older to receive the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. The second dose will be administered on Wednesday, July 14.

Ridgeview man uninjured in fatal crash on 212

A 37-year-old North Dakota man was killed east of Newell on May 20 when the vehicle he was driving collided with a semi-truck driven by a Ridgeview man. According to the South Dakota Dept. of Public Safety, a 2010 GMC Acadia driven by Dustin Vaughn of Jamestown, ND, was westbound on U.S.

School board accepts bids

New lights at the football/track field and improvements to school locker rooms are summer projects moving forward at Timber Lake School. The school board met via Zoom for a special meeting May 17 to open bids for the two projects.

Standing Rock IT director indicted on bribery charges

The director of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe’s information technology department and an IT services contractor have been indicted by a federal grand jury on three counts of bribery.
