DOT chip sealing on Highways 20,1804

The South Dakota Dept. of Transportation is applying chip seal and fog seal to two local highways through the end of this week. Barring weather delays, DOT officials believe the work will be completed by Monday, July 27. The work will include 10.

A tour of the Hillview Cemetery at Isabel was held Sunday, July 19, following a tour of the Timber Lake Cemetery on July 12. At each one, visitors were directed to burial sites of eight people or families with interesting stories.

Mesonet weather station at Eagle Butte returned to service

The South Dakota Mesonet at South Dakota State University has reactivated its weather station near Eagle Butte with the support of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Telephone Authority. The South Dakota Mesonet stations report more than just basic weather.

Classic cars roll in for Tiger Round-up

From vintage classics to muscle cars and restored tractors, the McIntosh All Class Reunion offered a little bit of everything on Saturday, July 18 as part of the annual Tiger Round-Up celebration. About three dozen vehicles made up the show, which was held just south of the McIntosh Cafe.

The Sacred Heart Parish in Dupree held their monthly 200 Club drawings on Sunday, July 18, following Holy Mass. Winners were: $50—John Lemke and Sydney Schad of Lantry; $25—Ken Hertel of Dupree, Jamie Thomas of Florida, Clinton Simon of Parade, and Gay Mraz of Dupree.
